Here are answers to the questions I hear most often. If you don't see yours here, reach out—I'm happy to help.
How long is a piece of string? Let me be real — everybody is different. That's exactly why cookie-cutter programmes might work for one person but completely miss the mark for another.
What I can tell you is this: when you commit to the process — consistency, understanding your body, and giving your foundational recovery the attention it deserves — most clients start noticing real shifts within 6–12 weeks. Less pain. Better posture. More energy. A body that actually feels like yours again.
That's why, when you sign up with me, you're committed fully for a minimum of 12 weeks. No shortcuts, no guesswork. You're with me for that time so we can do this properly in your 1:1 sessions — building from the ground up, at your pace, with a programme designed around you.
I hear this a lot — and honestly? I'm glad you're asking, because it tells me you haven't given up.
Most personal training follows the same formula. give you a programme, count your reps, push harder, see you next week. And if you're dealing with pain, a pelvic floor issue, fatigue, or just feeling completely disconnected from your body — that approach was never going to work. It wasn't built for you.
What I do is different from the ground up:
I'm not here to make you smash yourself into the ground. I'm here to help you reclaim what pain or life has taken from you — and build something that lasts.
Great question! — and don't worry, it's nothing scary!
A movement assessment is how I get to know your body before we do anything else. Think of it as your starting point — a detailed look at how you move, how you breathe, where you're holding tension, contributing to any pain or limitations you're experiencing. (Not a diagnosis, just data.)
During your session, I'll guide you through a series of simple movements. There's no pass or fail — it's about gathering information so I can build a programme that's genuinely designed for you, not guesswork.
Here's what I'll look at:
It takes around 90 min's up to 2 hours, and by the end, you'll already have a clearer picture of what's going on and — more importantly — what we're going to do about it.
This is what sets EMC PT apart.
I don't skip this step. Ever.
Absolutely not. And I really mean that.
Most of my clients come to me because they don't feel fit. They're in pain, they're exhausted, they've lost confidence in their body, or they've been told to "just exercise more" without anyone actually showing them how — safely and without making things worse.
That's exactly what I'm here for.
I start wherever you are. Not where you think you should be — where you actually are, right now. Your programme is built around your body, your capacity, and your goals. If that means I spend the first few weeks just working on how you breathe and how your body manages stress — brilliant. That's the foundation everything else is built on.
You don't need to be fit. You don't need to prepare. You just need to show up — I'll handle the rest.
I completely understand — and it's a fair question. But let me re-frame it slightly, because what I offer isn't what most people picture when they hear "personal training."
You're not paying for someone to count your reps and tell you to do another set of squats.
You're investing in:
Most of my clients have already spent money on fitness that didn't work — gym memberships they didn't use, PTs who didn't understand their pain, classes that made things worse. That's the expensive route.
What I offer is the one that actually works — because it's built for you, from the ground up.
And here's the thing: my clients don't just get fitter. They get their lives back. They pick up their kids without wincing. They sleep better. They stop being afraid of their own body. That's what you're investing in.
